World Record Gathering at Concorso Italiano 2009 - Ferrari 288 GTO 25th Anniversary Reunion, Monterey, California.

My husband and I hosted the Monterey reunion of the 288 GTO. It was held on August 14th and there was a world record gathering of 15, including one Evoluzione. The previous world record was held at Zandvoort in 1984 with 12 GTOs total. Reunions held in Spain and Enlgand in 2009 (June) had 5 and 9 cars, respectively. Considering that in the USA there are only approximately 24 288 GTOs total, our gathering of 15 was impressive to say the least, but more a very memorable day and a fun time for participants and attendees of the show. There were several big wildfires (this is California!) that had started a few days prior to the show, hence there was lots of ash falling Thursday, with Friday's show experiencing a hot glowing sun and less ash than the day prior, which was good, but most photos I've seen of the event look rather orange in color and kind of hazy due to this.
