Oh mate, the 4C is literally stunning, I could look at it all day long! It's like a modern Dino, but maybe even more beautiful! Should be quick too, if they can keep their weight promises. I'd feel a bit silly if I'd just ordered a Cayman!

Love the Cali's! I posted the first Cali street spot, my dad spotted it in Monaco. I think the FF Breadvan will land here early next year, can't wait to see one for real!

Nice spot! I took some pix of a silver Cali on Chapel St the other week, looks great in that colour!

Hmmmmm, what operating system? Windows 7? What version of FF? Sometimes you need to force the Java Update (in the Controls/System panel there is an icon just for Java i think).. Let me know and I can continue to try to trouble shoot it with you!

The Atlantic was first shown in Paris in 1935. It is interesting in that Jean Bugatti did most of the design work including the riveted fins and oval doors which he picked up from the aircraft industry. The picture of the Delahaye was indeed taken at Pebble Beach but, unfortunately, not by me.

The car is a 1936 Delahaye 135 Figoni & Falaschi Torpedo Cabriolet. I just love the 30's for design and not only cars but furniture, jewelry, clothing etc. Everything was positive, right up to the bloody war! Since the war, with a few exceptions, design seems much more conservative.

Thanks. I've got a Fuji S5600. It's a few years old and it's not an SLR. As far as manipulation goes, I use iPhoto on my macbook. I sometimes may crop the pics and improve the definition, but that's about it. I was lucky with the colour temperature in the Charger shots, nice Sydney afternoon light.

Nah I think the 512TR is one of the best looking Ferrari's ever. I want! 275GTB was street legal, some have the rare factory roll cage option though. I guess you could say they were a track day special like the Scud's these days. I saw a mint 275 in LA with cage! There are a few in OZ too.

avatar 300 SLED 1:42am Wednesday April 21, 2010

The classic Ferrari's I have seen that really stand out are the 275GTB aluminium body cars, 250GT Lusso, 365 Daytona couple and spider and the awesome 288GTO! Modern classics would be the F40, F50 and Enzo! That grey 512TR I saw at the track day was very special too. I love the 512 in that colour!

avatar 300 SLED 7:25pm Monday April 19, 2010

Hi mgray, there are no 250GTO's in Australia. There are many 250 variations but no GTO's. I have seen a few 250GT Lusso's that look amazing.

Hmm ok I will have to keep that TAG issue in mind when we make internal changes to the server.. same goes with the Username, however we might be able to have you create a new username and then link the old one to the new one.. but haven't ever done it.. sounds good in theory though.. when we make some internal changes to the site this summer I should be able to address all these requests!

avatar WhipDaddy 9:54am Sunday March 21, 2010

Morning mgray! Go into that album and where you enter in the TAG, theres a little orange arrow box on the right, try clicking that, it should erase your tags one at a time. Let me know if this works.. maybe it was only setup for admins?

I got back from Monterey this morning. The Auto Union was spectacular, as was everything else there. I'll send the photo discs to Vinay to upload. I took about 2000 photos, so I'll leave it to him to post as many or as few as he likes.

Yeah I love EVO (read their 10th anniversary special cover-to-cover last night! AGAIN!)- I just wish Harry's (the boss!) dampers had gone off before mine - i bought new ones direct from Sachs in Germany instead of having them rebuilt - about 3x the price! Only lasted 45k miles too! Mind, it was the easiest fitting job I've ever done, thankfully. I know I'll never sell the Trophy, it has so much character it's like a member of the family. My insurance should dip below £3k a year after my birthday in October too haha. Just splashed on a new plate - T3 PHY - and made the '3' look like an 'R' with fastening bolts! Is that as sad as it sounds in writing?! Found my cable for my phone, so pics uploaded over the weekend hopefully (I'm stealing wifi from the pub down the road til mine's sorted!) Oh I could talk about fast Renaults all day long.

avatar JamesAsh 11:56am Wednesday July 22, 2009

Yeah i do like a quick-witted front driver. I've had all sorts - 4 Peugeot 106s (1 litre 4 speed, 1.1, 1.3 Rallye and 1.6 GTi), a 205 GTi 1.6, MKII Golf 16v, 2 Clio 1.2s and my current Clio Trophy (not the one in the pic, it's black!). Still, my old Mx-5 Turbo was just about the most fun i've ever had - until I got in one day and my foot went straight through the floor! Prob should've realised Jap imports aren't galvanized like UK-supplied cars! Woops!

Well, the occasional Veyron, Koenigsegg, Carrera GT, RSR, 917, Delage, Hispano-Suiza etc etc etc . . . . I'll just make it up as I go along. I bought 2 more memory cards today. But I'm sure they won't be enough. Vinay will go nuts loading all my photos. Think I'll send him the pics on disc and he can do them when he can.

Hi MGray. Thank you for pointing out about the Ford Falcon. We really appreciate anytime an inconsistency is raised, so we can correct it. I will re-arrange the Falcon classification and get back to you.

I love the R8, but don't know which I'd have : 997 or R8. They both get the juices flowing. As a piece of sculpture, the R8 has it all over the 997.The R8 is more exciting, but the 997 is a Porsche. Interestingly, the guy I was speaking to the other day about his R8 said it was better than the 911 because "the Porsche still has the engine in the wrong place." If you know of Bill Buckle, that's who it was.

G'day. I have few albums on standby, but because of my upload problem I haven't created the albums. I can create albums OK, but I can't upload photos. What I do is to create the album, then email the photos to Vinay in Toronto and he adds the photos. He must be away because he hasn't added my last submission yet. I'll wait until he's back on deck before I do the rest. But I did have an amazing Audi R8 moment the other day. Got some great photos, even interior shots.

It's always difficult to predict what will become a classic. When I worked at Scuderia Veloce Motors in Sydney in the early 70s we had so much trouble selling new 2.7 RS's because they were too expensive at $17,700 . . . . . After all, a 2.4S was $16,000, and why spend the extra for 300cc, flares and a ducktail? Now, of course, RSs change hands for half a mill. The GT2 will always have a limited appeal (personally I lust after a 993GT2 http://www.madwhips.com/porsche-993-gt2/ ) but the 996/997 GT2s just seem a bit of overkill to me. I can only go from road tests in the magazines, not having driven one, but the GT3s that I have driven are more than enough for me. But history could well prove me wrong.

avatar oliver_sudden 8:26am Tuesday March 10, 2009

Glad to help. The 959 was a technological marvel in its day, and I think it still is. Sequential turbocharging, 4WD, speed-adjustable ride height, zero lift aero package, 200MPH etc. Interestingly, the 997TT is just as quick. But I'd rather have a 959 for historical value and rarity. I've just got home from the Porsche Club monthly meeting which is held at Porsche Centre Willoughby here in Sydney. Among all the Boxsters, Cayennes and standard 997s they have 3 997 GT2s in stock. I think they'll be there for a while.

avatar oliver_sudden 4:10am Monday March 09, 2009

Good questions! I haven't driven a C4, but road tests which compare the two do indicate that the C4 has more grip, but understeers more, which is to be expected with 4WD. Mechanically they're identical, though the C4 is fractionally slower than the C2 due to the extra weight. The GT3 & GT2 are rear wheel drive to save weight, and also add to driver appeal. A 2wd 911 (996, 997) is much more fun than a 4WD version. I've driven GT3s and they're a riot! Four wheel drive would give more grip, but would dilute the fun. Sliding a GT3 through a turn is one life's true joys. You should try it sometime. Hope this helps.

avatar oliver_sudden 5:49pm Wednesday March 04, 2009

Re your query on the supercharged early 911, I contacted the owner, here's his reply "Best result was 205 kW [275 hp] at the rear wheels and based on the std conversion of 1.32 this means 271 kW aye engine. Car weighs 1118 kg. The weight is due to full welded cage 55kg, GT3 discs and brakes up front 10 kg and supercharger and intercooler 16 kg. Extra oil cooler and hoses 8 kg. Total 89 kg. Thus shell etc is a nett 1029. Remember the 3.0 SC motor with 915 box is a lot heavier than the orig 2.2 with mag case and mag 901 box." Mark.
