My guess would be the base V6 coupe would probably start at the same price (23-24K.) The GT I think, should start at 32 grand. These domestic car companies are in so much trouble right now. BTW, last year I had a V6 Mustang coupe rental car for a weekend and it was horrible! Not fast at all, the engine sounded gross and had no power whatsoever; the car felt heavy, and it took a Lot of gas!!!

I like the look of the new Mustang. It reminds me more of the original concept car shown in Detroit. The design has been tightened up, and the front and rear look much better to me. I really like it when an automaker 'evolves' an existing design, (like the 911) vs. always coming up with brand new shapes. I wish Honda did that with the NSX.. and just continued sharpening it up and evolving it further. This 2010 Mustang's interior, while improved, still seems to have too much of that grainy hard plastic every where.

Currently, I think I would take a CLK63 Black Series as my GT car choice. That and a 430 Scuderia would be a pretty decent stable! Add an Ariel Atom too :-)

I'm still blown away that you saw a Black Series parked on the street. I have also read / heard that it's quite a race car, but I would imagine it's still comfortable enough on a long road trip. I think these days some of the really high-end performance oriented cars, have quite a decent ride while still being able to corner flat. Both the GT3 and the F430 I have driven, while having amazing handling, still have a very good ride. Either car would be fine on a road trip. The friend with the GT3 used to have a 350Z, and that car had an overly stiff ride, and would be no fun on a road trip. It seems for road cars, if you spend enough money, you can 'have your cake and eat it to' i.e. get superb handling and good ride quality.
