The Ferrari Barchetta ('little boat' in Italian) was introduced at the 1948 - the same year that Porsche built their first car - Turin Motor Show. It ran a Type 125 V12 engine. The 125 referred to the cubic capacity of each cylinder in centimeters. In 1952 in England John Tojeiro built a special that was a copy of the Barchetta, and AC cars put the Tojeiro-Bristol into production as the AC Ace Bristol in 1953. In 1962 a certain Carroll Shelby put a small block Ford V8 into the Ace, and this became the Shelby Cobra. If you look at the Barchetta, you can see the Cobra in it. To see ten of these jewels together was a rare privilege. But then, that's Pebble Beach for you.
