Saleen 'Stang & Ducati

Today I went to one of Sydney's most photogenic spots, North Head, to take some shots of my bike. When I got there, a Saleen Mustang was waiting for me. There would be only a handful of these in Australia, so I was lucky to capture it in such a great location and under a nice grey sky. No hard shadows and no nasty reflections off the paintwork. And what paintwork. Looked just terrific under that sky. I asked the owner (nice friendly guy) what the 281 badge referred to. He didn't know, and neither do I. Being a fan of Mustangs, excepting those aberrations in the eighties, I got quite a kick out of seeing this car today.

Brilliant Photos. That would be a rare spotting in Canada too. The 281 badge is an 'S281' badge which is the model name of the car. It's a Saleen S281 3-Valve Mustang (335hp.) The 281 comes from 281 cubic inches, which is the size of the 4.6L V8 motor, i.e. 4.6 liters = 281 c.i. Very nice pictures, Oliver_Sudden.

Thanks for the info. Seems like a small motor, I remember the days of 351s, 427s and so on. And they call it progress . . . .
