Now this one definitely is a replica. And not a good one. The real RS had the "long bonnet/small bumper" combination as in your pics of the yellow car. http://www.madwhips.com/porsche-911-2-7-carrera-rs/ The car above wears badly done after market replica 1974 3 litre G Series RS bumpers, and the ducktail doesn't fit. A real 1973 RS doesn't have the PORSCHE reflector below the ducktail, this was introduced in 1974. And the decal on the ducktail is wrong too. I'm being pedantic here, but once misinformation finds its way onto the web it becomes fact.

Noticed the bumper, was waiting for your expertise comment. I must note that this replica sounded like there was a serious monster under the hood. Will update title to reflect replica status :)

Glad you understand the intention of the comment. I'm not picking faults with your description, just mentioning for the sake of accuracy. I have nothing against replicas and so on. As far as I'm concerned, Porsche's middle name is 'modification'. When I had my 1973 911E coupe, a guy in the car club here used it as a template for a 2.7RS resto. We couldn't believe how many inconsistencies there were between the two cars. Little trim details, fitments under the cars, location of oil lines and bits and pieces. Was a fascinating study. Back in the days of real hand assembly and varied suppliers things were different. Makes restos these days a bit of a challenge when you don't really know what's correct. There was a '73 911 found in Detroit a few months ago with 731 miles on it. A real time capsule. But even it would be different in some ways to a car maybe 10 chassis numbers from it. http://www.early911sregistry.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27666
