Moslers racing in Sydney - 9

Album details

Capture Date: May. 30, 2010
City: Sydney Australia
Event: Eastern Creek race meeting

These 3 Moslers were racing in the Australian GT Championship at Sydney's Eastern Creek racetrack on the weekend. The gills in the engine cover always seem to me to be from some gigantic prehistoric multi-sponsored crustacean. This was a two race day meeting, with many support races involving Radicals, MX-5s, locally built Lotus 7 replicas, production sports cars etc. And admission was free. Outstanding!

They sound great. The whole field sounds fantastic. They have a rolling start and it sounds like a nuclear explosion when they come down the main straight and then gun it. Magic. I think the Mosler would be a bit of a challenge as a road car, something akin to the Porsche GT1.

I saw a crashed Mosler the other day. I'd just driven past a village train station near my office, in a bit of a rush, and noticed there were hundreds of sports cars in the car park. I had no time to turn around unfortunately, but on my way home later, after the car park had sadly emptied I came across a bright red one which had obviously gone for an impossible overtake hitting a green MK3 Golf in the process. Everyone looked OK and the local constabulary were on the scene (Hence no photos - big fines over here for using your phone while driving). The damage to the Golf was probably a few hundred quid, but the entire front of the Mosler had disappeared! 'Twas a weird afternoon indeed.
