Supercars are never practical, this is about style and and paying homage to the great racing history of Mercedes Benz. Well done Mercedes, the industry needs more exciting cars like this and if they make money out of it then good luck to them, at least they will be around in the future.

Well, to be honest , I find it a bit pointless. I don't think much of the original McLaren SLR and I don't think that this advances the game. I know it's an homage to Sir Stirling's #722 SLR, but as has been proved many times before, you can't recreate the past. It just seems to be yet another marketing exercise which shows a dearth of imagination. 208 mph with no roof or screen? I'll take a Veyron, please. And what's the next big thing from the three pointed star? Another gullwing. The original gullwing was an instant classic, I can't see the new one achieving that status.
