Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

4,961 cc 5.0 liters V 10 mid engine with 82.5 mm bore, 92.8 mm stroke, 11.0 compression ratio, double overhead cam, variable valve timing/camshaft and four valves per cylinder 07L1

The intake, exhaust and ECU have been upgraded to release an extra 10 hp for a total of 530 hp (395 kW). The lightening and extra power result in a 0-100km/h time of 3.5 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the base Gallardo.

Power: 395 kW , 530 HP SAE @ 8,000 rpm; 376 ft lb , 510 Nm @ 4,250 rpm

The Superleggera is lighter than the base Gallardo by around 70 kg (154 lb) - down to approximately 1,360 kg (3,000 lb) - thanks to the use of carbon fibre panels for the rear diffuser, undertray, the rearview-mirror housings, the interior door panels, the central tunnel, and the engine cover. Even the wheel nuts are made of titanium instead of steel to save even more unsprung weight at each corner of the car.

So why is it called the LP560-4 ? The new car's name follows Lamborghini tradition and is in a similar format to that of its big brother, the Murcielago LP640. LP stands for Longitudinale Posteriore, the position of the engine - longitudinally mid-mounted. 560 is its metric horsepower count, and Lamborghini chose to insert the "-4" as a reminder that the Gallardo is a full-time four-wheel-drive machine.
