These are some shots of a Australian-only vehicle called an HSV Maloo. It's based on the Holden Commodore utility (known here as the ute), which I believe is to be sold in N. America as a Pontiac G8. HSV is Holden's Special Vehicle division which does hotted-up versions of the production cars and utes. It runs a 6 litre LS2 with 307 kw. Should be enough, though it's a bit heavy at 1800 kilos. These are very popular here, despite the petrol prices. Ford has equivalent offerings too.

HSV is soon to release a thing called the HSV W427, a A$150,000 sedan with a 7 litre donk, and orders are rolling in. Info at http://www.hsv.com.au/w427/

We love our V8s down here!
