Nicole Kidman rode in this Police Car

I went to a small local car display today, there were the usual Mustangs, Vettes etc there. But this Falcon caught my attention. I'm no fan of Nicole Kidman, even though she grew up in the same Sydney suburb as I did, about a kilometer away. Whatever, this ex-cop car has an interesting history. Aussie actor Bryan Brown, who was in "Cocktail" with T. Cruise, as well as F/X & F/X2 among many other films, has autographed under the bootlid during the shooting of "Dirty Deeds", itself a pretty good film. And I bet the owner has been offered bucket loads...

Eric Bana XB Ford Falcon hardtop - 600 bhp and leaf springs. Are you mad

For those who have seen Eric Bana's "Love The Beast", this is his car. If you haven't seen the film, you must! It explores his 25 year love affair with his first car. This car. At the time that I took this shot at Phillip Island Historics in 2007 I didn't realise that it was his car so I only took one shot because it was under a canopy and difficult to get to. For those in Oz, I bought the double DVD at JB Hi-Fi for $30. It comes in a metal tin shaped like an oil can, very cool....

Ford Falcon 300+ Coupe

Saw this Ford Falcon 300+ Coupe at the All Australian Car Day VI. It was originally unveiled at the 2001 Melbourne Motorshow and was set steal sales from the Holden Monaro, when Ford decided that it needed to concentrate on its flagging bread and butter lines (an update of its entire Falcon range and the introduction of the Focus to OZ) and killed it.

Saw this Ford XY Falcon GT at the Auto One Classic Car Show 2009. It was built in 1971 to be one of the best cars in the world, a true GT that could take on Ferraris and Astons. Its performance left no-one in any doubt that Ford Australia had achieved its aim: 224 kW/300 bhp as standard, 291 kW/390 bhp with the 'H.O.' pack & 335 kW/450 bhp in race trim. Interestingly, it continues to compete against the exotics. For about the cost of a new 911, you can pick up a standard GT or for the price of a...

1967 XR Falcon GT

The 1967 Ford Falcon XR GT started the muscle car race here in Australia. Take a bog standard Falcon, add a 289, stiffer suspension, 4 speed manual, top level trim, sports instrumentation, bronze paint only, fat wheels and tyres, trick wheel trims and go racing! First time out they first and second at the Bathurst 500 mile race, Australia's greatest touring car race. The next 8 places in the race were filled by Alfa 1600GTVs and Mini Coopers S's. GM Holden & Chrysler had to jump onto the horsepower bandwagon and things have never been the same since. These cars are...

1963 Ford Falcon Country Squire

This rather wonderful Australian market 1963 Ford Falcon XL Country Squire was on display at a Street Machine show at Kandos, a town in New South Wales, Australia. It's incredibly rare, I don't think I've seen one for about 30 years. When new they commanded a large price premium over the more pedestrian models, so there weren't a lot sold.
