For those of you who know Sydney, I was driving through The Rocks today when this 458 came up behind me. Having, to quote Chuck Berry, "No particular place to go", I followed it through the City all the way to Macquarie St. I figured that I'd been lucky not to have been done by the cops for using the phone while driving, so I let the 458 head off on its own. I was disappointed with the exhaust note, it sounded like a vacuum cleaner. Only when the driver gunned it a bit, once, did it sound OK. It's one thing to photograph a special car in a showroom or at a concours, but it's always more interesting to see one out in the real world enjoying life. The plates on this 458 are the second set of number plates ever issued in Australia, and could easily be worth as much as the car. At Pebble Beach last year I also shot the car wearing Australian plate Number 1. http://www.madwhips.com/these-are-the-first-sixth-number-plates-issued-in-austraila/ I didn't notice any suspicious looking smoke coming from under the 458, so maybe it's had its recall repair done. http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/550000-ferrari-recalled-for-fire-risk-20100902-14o6v.html
