Mmmmm, yummy. In my opinion, this and the 550 were the last good-looking Ferraris. The current range doesn't do anything for me.

I have to agree with the point that the 355 is a breathtakingly gorgeous car. But the current range (minus the California) does LOTs for me as well.

Interesting how many people are underwhelmed by the California. It seems too derivative and just not special enough. I'm sure it's a good drive, but I feel that a Ferrari has to have the visual wow factor too. The Cali could be Korean.

I told a friend of mine that if I someone told me Hyundai had come out with a new sportscar, and then showed me the California, I would have said, 'hey good effort from Hyundai, and I can tell they are really trying to improve, but why do their cars always have to look so awkward!'

There'll never be another Lusso, 275GTB, 365GTB/4, P4 etc. Those days are gone. But at least those exquisite cars are still around for us to lust after.

I completely agree with your first sentiments, Mark. The berlinetta has been getting gradually uglier since the stunning 355, with the possible exception of the Challenge Stradale. The 430 should have been gorgeous, the front of the 458 is downright ugly. Similarly, I think the 599 has amazing presence and is certainly intriguing, but the 550 (especially in 'Grigio Titanio') was quite literally beautiful, as much art as machine. Then they ruined it with silly headlights on the 575.... 612? It's a lovely car, but not a classically beautiful one. My absolute favourite (non-rear-engined!) piece of car design is the 250 GTO, and like you say, there'll never be another.
