Album details

Capture Date: Mar. 11, 2007
City: Phillip Island racetrack
Event: Phillip Island Historics

For those who have seen Eric Bana's "Love The Beast", this is his car. If you haven't seen the film, you must! It explores his 25 year love affair with his first car. This car. At the time that I took this shot at Phillip Island Historics in 2007 I didn't realise that it was his car so I only took one shot because it was under a canopy and difficult to get to. For those in Oz, I bought the double DVD at JB Hi-Fi for $30. It comes in a metal tin shaped like an oil can, very cool. The first disc has the main feature, interviews with Clarkson, Dr Phil & Jay Leno, a 10 minute interview with Eric about the car, stills of the car, commentary by Eric and the producers. The second DVD contains an extended interview with Clarkson (22 mins), an 11 minute doco on the Targa Tasmania, a 10 minute doco on the Targa Florio & some 1970s Ford Falcon TV commercials (John Goss driving a Falcon around Mt Panorama!). Great value considering that the single disc is about $27. It's a real car lover's movie. And a wicked car.

Great shot OS, the car beside it is the late Peter Brocks '48 Holden that he raced at Goodwood in 2006. Last I seen it was for sale for $600,000 aus. Can only agree with your sentiments about Love The Beast, great movie. I purchased the Tin version as well.

I have some other shots of Brocky's car if you'd like to see them.

Love Bana, a star who will gladly give up a lucrative film deal if it clashes with his far-more-important racing calendar. A proper bloke, then.
