Album details

Capture Date: May. 23, 2010

These were at Eastern Creek racetrack today, being prepared for a Customer Drive Day tomorrow. Interesting to see the entire range together, I tend to forget that the Smart is also a Mercedes product.

Were there any SLs or CL coupes? Only one AMG? Btw, do they sell the GLK line in Australia?

There were a few cars that had already got through the hose down, maybe AMGs & SLs were in that group. Or maybe the AMGs were deemed unsafe in the hands of mere punters, just as Panamera Turbos weren't in the fleet at the launch in Monterey. Is that a GLK in the last 2 pics? I'm not familiar with them, I'm not that much into trucks.

That's a GL in the last 2 pics. I have a friend (another member on this site ) who had a Cayenne GTS last year and he's not into trucks anymore either.

Please tell me they weren't going to take that behemoth on the track?! I've always thought a Smart would be a laugh on track - just keep it pinned and let the understeer scrub off the excess speed.

They were all tracked. Having driven a few smarts, I think on the track you'd have the challenge of terminal understeer in the slow corners and roll oversteer in the fast ones.
