Here is something interesting I just learned. The Audi A8 and S8 have 100% full LED headlight systems. One of the biggest challenges right now in implementing full LED lighting systems is the heat dissipated by thm. The LED's themselves actually emit very little heat. However the chip that manages the power to the lights runs extremely hot and requires a massive thermal management design which involves the entire headlight design and housing!! With this being said the cost of these new and advanced full LED headlight systems cost 100x what the normal current headlight setup costs to manufacture.
