City: Kiama Australia
Event: Porsche Day Out

Each month the Porsche Club of New South Wales has at least one social event. It may be a country drive, an observation run, a slot car race or a go kart race. This event was a country drive down the coast south of Sydney to a town called Kiama for lunch, then a drive further south into Kangaroo Valley. There were over 30 Porsches on the run, a great sight on the roads. I drove a 1975 2.7 Carrera targa. The run was about 400 kilometers, a great day's driving. The roads around Jamberoo, Kiama & Kangaroo Valley are ideal for a drive such as this - mountainous, twisty, fast & fun. There is a photo of the Sea Cliff Bridge, it was featured in that Ferrari Formula 1/Shell TV ad a couple of years ago. We're RHD down here, so some of the shots were taken from the targa while I was driving.

What a drive! That shot of the bridge in the distance near the end is stunning. Lovely mix of Weissach-trained beasts, too. Is the Sea Cliff Bridge the one with castellations on the top? Looks like something you'd see in the Amazonian rainforest!

The Sea Cliff Bridge is the long distance shot. The pics from road level with the cars coming towards me are at the southern end of the bridge. The old stone bridge is in Kangaroo Valley, further south & inland.
