The new 2012 BMW M5 (F10) houses the S63 bi-turbo 4.4L V8 with twin scroll turbocharger technology that is also present in the current BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M. Despite loosing it's V10, this animal still delivers 560 hp (418 kW) and 502 ft·lb (681 N·m) of torque which equates to 60 more horsepower and 122 ft·lb more torque than the last generation 2005-2011 E60 BMW M5. This new M5 was responsible for trumping the CTS-V (7 minutes and 59 seconds) and Porsche Panamera Turbo (7 minutes and 56 econds) Nurburgring’s North Loop time lap records for a production 4 door sedan by setting the new lap time record at 7 minutes and 55 seconds!
