Never quite got the 912. All the disadvantages of the 911 : poor ventilation, noisy, interesting handling . . . without the 911's best feature, that incredible screaming engine. It's been said that that the 912 is a better handler than a 911, without the weight of the 6 you're less likely to leave the road taillights first. And bear in mind that I had a 1973 911E coupe as my only car for 11 years. Loved every mile in the car, but even I'm not so one eyed that I can't see the faults inherent in the design.

THERE ARE NO FAULTS INHERENT IN THE DESIGN OF ANY PORSCHE EVER MADE. Er, crikey..... um.. sorry... don't quite know where that came from. After all, there's a diesel Porsche these days.

There was a diesel Porsche back in 1937. Of course, it was a tractor. And Dr Porsche the first made a hybrid car back in 1899. Everything old is new again.
