1967 Sunbeam Stiletto - 2

Album details

Capture Date: Oct. 6, 2009

Event: Car Park

I hope the photos convey just how tiny this car is. It runs a throbbing 875cc SOHC engine with twin Strombergs, which provides a terrifying 0-50 mph in 10.6 secs. That's what 55BHP gives you. The engine is in the rear. One of the contemporary ads for the car proudly advises that it features 'wind up windows.' Those were the days. It's obviously owned by an enthusiast, I've never seen a car wearing so many stickers and badges. The glovebox lid was completely covered with them. The Stiletto is a derivative of the Hillman Imp, a competitor for the Mini. The real Mini, that is. The large red car towering over the Sunbeam is a Hyundai Getz. The Stiletto is a really tiny car. I got quite a kick out of seeing this car, don't think I've ever seen one before.
