These old girls were on display at Mt Panorama over the easter weekend. They run 2.2 litre six cylinder motors giving a thundering 53 kilowatts. Drum brakes. Manual choke. Single carby. 3 on the tree. Vacuum wipers. We've come a long way. There were nearly 200,000 of them sold between 1958 & 1960, quite a large number given Australia's small population back then. I hadn't seen one for a long time, then there were all of these at Bathurst. And I saw one on the road today. Holden is a division of GM, you can see the Chevrolet influence in the styling. The first shot - not the title shot - is a 1964 EH Holden Premier. It's unusual to see one at all these days, particularly one like this in totally original condition. By 1964 Holdens were putting out up to 90Kw for the 'high performance' models, and could go from 0-97 mph in 13.4 seconds.
